ABOUT

Antifreeze agent is a substance that, when added to liquid, lowers the freezing point of the said liquid. It is used in various devices like engines and air conditioning systems as component of thermal transfer fluid. In vehicles, it prevents the coolant from freezing during winter. If the coolant was to freeze, vehicles would be unable to start. The force of expanding water as it freezes can damage important engine components. This makes antifreeze agent very important.

In the Second World War, one of the reasons why Germany was slow to push towards Soviet Union was due to German armor not being properly equipped to handle the frigid temperature. The antifreeze in the coolants in tanks and other vehicles were not able to handle severe cold. Tank crews also had to constantly run the engines just to prevent the coolant from freezing. This also placed additional burden to the crew.

Careful selection of an antifreeze can enable a wide temperature range in which the mixture remains in the liquid phase, which is critical to efficient heat transfer and the proper functioning of heat exchangers.

This website aims to provide important information and up-to-date news with regards to antifreeze products. Information and opinion from leaders in the industry are to be made available for the people.
